Consumers are consistently using the web as their primary go-to source for information. With that being said, your website may be the first impression guests will have of your restaurant. The goal is to appeal to guests’ appetites as well as create the same ambiance and guest service they will receive in your restaurant. We recommend choosing a clean design that conveys the feel of your establishment.
Your color scheme is also important. Ensure you’ve chosen a color scheme that emulates the ambiance you create at your establishment. Make sure your designs are easy to read and look sharp on a screen, smartphone, and tablet.
With rapid technology growth, it is important that your website stays up-to-date with these trends. Keep in mind items you’ve heard guests suggest regarding your website. What’s currently attracting their attention when they land to your site? Checking out competitors’ websites for inspiration is never a bad idea either!
Even an eye-grabbing website is useless to prospective guests if it doesn’t provide the information necessary to find your restaurant. Provide key information such as hours of operation, address, and telephone number. Make sure all are easily visible on the front page.
If a guest has a hard time finding this information they may very well give up and patronize a different restaurant. Think of your website as an opportunity to communicate with your guests 24/7.
You can also add a commonly answered questions section based on guest feedback. For example, if you have a lot of questions about parking, simply post on your site where parking is available.
Include an up-to-date menu on your website. We live in a world of complicated diets, trends, and food allergies. By including your menu on your site, groups of people will know that there will be something to match everyone’s palate or dietary needs. Your menu can also help to attract hungry diners who will already be excited about their dining experience before even sitting down.
